  • BioGTS Biorefinery technology

    BioGTS® Biorefinery technology is developed for cost efficient treatment of organic waste and its conversion into renewable energy, vehicle biofuels, chemicals and fertilizers. The concept is based on the integration of new patented biodiesel and biogas technologies. The BioGTS® Biorefinery is based on a modular design which is cost-efficient and easily scalable. The process is especially well suited for treatment of kitchen waste and organic fraction of (mixed) municipal solid waste and its conversion into biogas and biodiesel fuels.

     

  • BioGTS Biogas plant

    Biogas technology offers many advantages; the technology can be applied to the treatment of a wide  range  of  organic  wastes  from  municipalities,  industries  and  agriculture,  allowing  their conversion into renewable energy, valuable biofuels and soil-improvement medium with very high process  efficiency  and  energy  output.  Biogas  technology  is  based  on  a  biological  process  called anaerobic digestion. The produced biogas contains typically 55-70 % methane and can be used for energy production in similar way as natural gas: as industrial gas, for production of electricity and thermal energy, and after upgrading as vehicle biofuel and kitchen gas etc. Biogas is a very clean fuel with zero greenhouse gas emissions and up to 99 % lower particle emissions than conventional fuels. The residue generated in the process has a high hygienic quality and it can be used as an organic fertilizer or soil-improvement medium, allowing the nutrients to be recycled efficiently back to the nutrient cycle. Hence, the treatment in the biogas process can at best significantly improve the hygiene and sanitation in organic waste management.

  • BioGTS Disposal Process

    The produced biodiesel can be used as vehicle fuel in conventional diesel engines without modifications, and also as fuel for generation of thermal energy and electricity, allowing for a very wide customer base.

    As a by-product to biodiesel production, glycerol is generated, and it can be sold e.g. as raw material to chemical industry for additional income. Biodiesel is a very clean renewable fuel with significantly lower greenhouse gas emissions and particle emissions than conventional fossil diesel. Biodiesel has the same energy content and properties as fossil diesel fuel.

     

  • BioGTS BIOREFINERY

    The BioGTS® Biorefinery is based on a very robust reactor design, which is well suited for the treatment of waste that can contain impurities, like kitchen waste or municipal solid waste. For example, inorganic (e.g. plastic, sand) and slowly degradable (e.g. wood, straw, fiber) materials typically contained in the feedstock can cause a lot of problems (floating/sedimentation) in the traditional biogas processes. However, these kinds of problems are eliminated in the BioGTS® Biorefinery process.
